The Meadowbrook FFA Chapter was represented well at this year’s local county fair. There were many excellent achievements made. The students worked long and hard on all of their projects they took to show this year.

Sarah Mercer won reserve in her weight class while Jerad Patterson won third in his. Keith Waers, Heath Shriver, Jordan McConnell, Carrie Waers, Andrea Kackley, and Zack Patterson also showed.

Chrissie Dodd placed second in her showmanship class. Kaitlyn Stillion won Grand Champion Born and Raised with her market lamb and Premier Breeding Sheep Exibitor. She was also our girl ambassador this year.

There were many showing cattle this year. Those showing dairy were Peter Novak and Erica Showalter. Peter won second in his class for his dairy beef feeder and Erica Showalter won Dairy Showman of Showman and reserve champion dairy cow. Taylor Modro, Taylor DeVolld, Bridget Hayes, Kelsey Watson, and Heath Shriver showed beef. Taylor Modro won 4th overall with her steer and Bridget Hayes won first in her showmanship class.

We had a few students show rabbits. They include Alex Kenisell and Kensie Palmer, and Kaylyan Hallbaken. Nick Ley spent his time showing his Breed Chickens and broilers at the fair.

We had many members take vegetables to the fair that they grew in their garden and spent much hard work on. These students were Travis Larrick, Abby Dudley, Travis Lanning, Dwain Hall, Ray Collins, Justice May, Jessica Addy, and Ben Davis. Travis Lanning received Grand Champion vegetable with his pumpkin. Ben Davis won champion potatoes.

Overall this year was a huge success for Meadowbrook FFA. The students all worked hard, and it showed. Hopefully next year goes as great as this one did, or better!
